Dr. Mohd Faisal Abdul Hamid completed his B.Eng in 2007 and MSc. in 2012 at the Universiti Putra Malaysia, and his Ph.D at the University of Manchester in 2016. His Ph.D study was on Aerodynamic Models for Insect Flight, developing a numerical model to optimize the stroke or the wing kinematics for optimum flight performance. He returned to Malaysia as a senior lecturer at the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Since then, he has secured more than 5 research grants from internal and external funders amounting up to USD 100,000, both as PI and Co-I. Actively involved in many consultation project, including with the Royal Malaysia Air Force, AIROD Sdn. Bhd., Aerospace Technology Systems Corp. Sdn. Bhd., and Malaysian Nuclear Agency. He currently supervises 10 postgraduate students in the field of aerodynamics and wind tunnel experiments, at both Ph.D and Masters level. He has produced numerous publications and the majority are closely related to aerodynamic flow control. He is currently appointed as program coordinator for two Master (by coursework; 1. Master of Innovation & Engineering Design, 2. Master of Aerospace System Design Engineering) programs at Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia.
