After a study period in Lebanon, Professor Georges N. Nahas obtained a D.E.A. in Mathematics from Universite de Paris and a PhD in Education, from Universite Rene Descartes - Paris V, France. He is currently Professeur Chercheur at the St. Joseph University, Beirut (2019-Present). He was Vice President of the University of Balamand in charge of Planning and Educational Relations (1996-2018), Dean of the Faculty of Library and Information Studies (2011-2018), Dean of the Saint John of Damascus Institute of Theology (2005-2010), Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, at the University of Balamand (1988–1995). He was also the Principal of the College Notre Dame du Balamand (1975–1993). Professor Nahas taught at the Lebanese University, at St.Joseph University and since 1988 he has been teaching and working at theUniversity of Balamand. He is Professor of Education, member of the Lebanese Association of Educational Sciences (LAES) since 1995; and hesits on theSociete Europeenne pour la Formation des Ingenieurs (SEFI) since 2008; Association Francophone Internationale de Recherche Scientifique en Education (AFIRSE) since 2013; andReseau International Francophone des Etablissements de Formation de Formateurs (RIFEFF) since 2015. He was Member of the National Committee of the "Ministry of Education and the Higher Education" (1996–2016). Prof. Nahas has also participated in many international seminars and published a large number of articles, three manuals of teaching and eight books related to his fields of interest. His academic research focuses on Cognitive Psychology in the Field of Conceptualization, the impact of the Conceptual Fields Theory on different aspects of school and university education, mainly in terms of efficiency and quality and Problem Based/Project Learning. He participated actively in many international and national forums dealing mainly with curricular issues, learning strategies and quality in Higher Education.
