Saleh Al-Tayyar is a faculty member in the Department of Biomedical Technology, College of Applied Medical Sciences, at King Saud University. During the period (Feb 2004
Sep 2008) he served as the Director General for Medical Devices Sector at the Saudi Food & Drug Authority, he became the vice Executive President for Medical Devices Sector at the Saudi Food & Drug Authority (Sep 2008
Sep 2014). He established a state of the art medical devices regulatory system in Saudi Arabia that achieved the respect and recognition of the international regulatory arena. He was also a member of the executive team that established the Saudi Food and Drug Authority in Saudi Arabia. He chaired many organizations and committees, among which are the Asian Harmonization Working Party (AHWP), an organization of more than 23 member economies working toward harmonization of medical devices in Asia, Africa, Middle East, and Latin America for three years, the Asian Regulatory Professional Association (ARPA) for three years, the Medical Devices Committee at Saudi Arabia Standards Organization, Al-Riyadh Biomedical Engineering Club, and the Medical & Clinical Engineering Chapter at the Saudi Council of Engineers. Altayyar is a foot Biomechanics Consultant at the university Diabetes Center at King Saud University Diabetes Center, and a Biomedical Engineering Consultant at King Fahad Medical City, Ministry of Health, Riyadh - Saudi Arabia. He refereed and co-authored books on innovation in healthcare, Diabetic foot , and clinical engineering management. He organized and chaired many conferences.
Majid Ghassemi is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering Department at the K. N. Toosi
University of Technology in Tehran, Iran. He has over 20 years of academic and industrial
experience and served as the President of the K. N. Toosi University of Technology from 2010
through 2013. Professor Ghassemi has also served in several public and private boards and panels
and supervised several undergraduate, masters and PhD students, published several books and
many journal and conference papers. Professor Ghassemi was recently endorsed by The Royal
Academy of Engineering of the United Kingdom as an Exceptional Talent.
He is currently an Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Prevention and Treatment and
Managing Editor of the American Journal of Mechanical Engineering (AJME) as well as Editorial

Abdeen Mustafa Omer (BSc, MSc, PhD) is an Associate Researcher at Energy Research Institute (ERI). He obtained both his PhD degree in the Built Environment and Master of Philosophy degree in Renewable Energy Technologies from the University of Nottingham. He is qualified Mechanical Engineer with a proven track record within the water industry and renewable energy technologies. He has been graduated from University of El Menoufia, Egypt, BSc in Mechanical Engineering. His previous experience involved being a member of the research team at the National Council for Research/Energy Research Institute in Sudan and working director of research and development for National Water Equipment Manufacturing Co. Ltd., Sudan. He has been listed in the book WHO’S WHO in the World 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2010. He has published over 300 papers in peer-reviewed journals, 100 review articles, 5 books and 100 chapters in books.

Ridha HAMBLI is currently a Professor of Biomechanics at PRISME Lab in Polytechnic Institute of Orleans in France. He studied Mechanical engineering at Ecole Centrale de Nantes, France and he received his doctoral degree in 1996 from Ecole National Superieur des Arts et Metiers of Angers, France. Subsequently, he worked as a project manager in from Ecole National Superieur des Arts et Metiers for two years and than as associate professor at Institut des Sciences et Techniques d'Angers - France. In 2006, he moved to Polytechnic Institute of Orleans as a full professor where he was involved in teaching and research activities related to biomechanics and mechanobiology of bone. He is an author of about 200 refereed publications and abstracts in international scientific journals and conference proceedings. He organized several research events and symposiums in relation with his research activities and he acts as a reviewer in several international journals. He also acts as reviewer expert for several organizations in the field of biomechanics.

In 1976 he started studying at the University of Jordan, and in 1980 he graduated with B.SC degree in Physics / Mathematics. In the academic year 1980/1981 He teached in the Al-Arab College (Amman-Jordan). In 1981 He started studying at Middle East Technical University in Ankara/Turkey, and in 1983 He graduated with M.Sc degree in Physics. In the academic year 1983/1984 He teached in the Al-Quds College (Amman-Jordan). Between 1984-1987 He worked as a teacher in the Ministry of Education of Saudi Arabia. In 1987 he started studying at Middle East Technical University at Ankara/Turkey and in 1991 He graduated with Ph.D degree in Engineering Sciences. Between 1989-1991He worked as a research assistant in the Department of Engineering Sciences at Middle East Technical University. Between 1991-1993 He teached in the Higher College for Certification of Teachers at Amman/Jordan. In 1993, He began working as an assistant professor in the Faculty of Engineering at Near East University (Nicosia-Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus). In November 2003, He became an associate professor.

Ajay has more than 12 years’ experience at Carestream Health and Philips Research working as a senior research scientist and technical project leader in the area of medical ultrasound and biomedical signal processing. He is the co-inventor on more than 25 patent applications, and co-authored more than 35 journal articles and conference proceedings. His technical interests are in time-series analysis, physical model-based predictive analysis, and biomedical data analytics.
