Eric Baer is Director, Center for Layered Polymeric Systems (CLiPS), The Herbert Henry Dow Professor of Science and Engineering and University Professor in the Dept. of Macromolecular Science and Engineering at Case Western Reserve University. His honors include the Paul J. Flory Education Award, American Chemical Society, 1996; Frank and Dorothy HumelHovorka Prize, Case Western Reserve University, 1998; Roon Foundation Award, Federation of Societies for Coatings Technology and Coatings Industry Education Fund, 1999; he was inducted into The Plastics Hall of Fame, 2000; Paul J. Flory Polymer Research Prize, awarded at “POLYCHAR 22 World Forum on Advanced Materials, Stellenbosch, South Africa, 2014; Recipient of the 2015 Case School of Engineering Research Award for Senior Faculty, April 23, 2015; Recipient of The William Fowler Award for Distinguished Research in Physics – Sponsored by the Ohio-Region Section of American Physical Society (OSAPS) October 2015; Recipient of the 2016 James L. White Innovation Award of the Polymer Processing Society (PPS), presented during the 32nd International Conference of the PPS in 2016 in Lyon, France; Recipient of the 2018 Charles Goodyear Medal by the American Chemical Society, Rubber Division.
