Dr Yan Huang leads metallic biomaterials and metal matrix nanocomposites research at Brunel University London, with interests in structural and biomedical applications. He is a founding member and co-investigator of the UK government EPSRC Future Liquid Metal Engineering HUB where he leads the activities on light alloy processing involving both solidification and plastic deformation. He has extensive experience in process innovation for combined solidification and thermomechanical processing, solid state joining and severe plastic deformation for light alloys and light metal matrix composites. He has long-term interests in the characterization of microstructure and texture evolution during thermomechanical processing and fundamental issues of strengthening, plastic deformation and grain boundary migration. Karl Delbé is a Senior Lecturer at the École Nationale d'Ingénieurs de Tarbes (ÉNIT) - French National Mechanical/Industrial Engineering School in Tarbes.
His teaching activity is carried out in both Bachelor's and Master's degrees with a focus on thermodynamics, tribology and materials characterization.
In 2006, he completed a PhD on the "contribution to the understanding of intrinsic tribological properties of lamellar Compounds". Since March 1994, he is a Professor at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Hanseo
University and concurrently as Director of the Institute for Processing and Application of Inorganic
Materials Science and Engineering (PAIM). And he was a Director of Chungnam Advanced-Fabrication
Technology Innovation Center (CATIC), 2000-2007 and at the Institute of Advanced Ceramics for

From 08/01/2001 to 31/01/2002 he has worked at the Wilton International Centre within the research group of Cytec Engineered Materials. This stage was carried out within his PhD project. During the stage his research was focalized on the development of thermoset formulations for advanced composite applications in the aerospace and F1 sectors. In particular, most of the research was focused on epoxy resins for low temperature curing, on impact resistance of fibrereinforced composites and RTM techniques.
From 10/04/200 to 20/12/2000 he has worked on a contract as experimental scientist within the research group of ICI-Strategic Technology Group. His work was focused on the development of epoxy formulations as protective coatings and matrices for fiber reinforced materials.

Dr Eva Maria Perez Soriano got her Diploma in Industrial Engineering at the University of Seville (Spain). After working for several years for private companies, she came back to the University to get her master's degree in Science and Technology of New Materials and defend her PhD in controlled-size porosity for LHPs. She is currently a lecturer and researcher at the Department of Materials Science and Transport and Engineering in this University, and researches on lightweight metal matrix composites (TMCs) reinforced with ceramic particles to produce in-situ secondary phases, and, more recently, in Additive Manufacturing techniques.

My research activity has focused on the valuation of construction and demolition and the industry wastes for the manufacture of recycled mortars and concrete. I have participated over the last five years in more than 10 R+D+i projects, with both public and private funding, related to recycled materials, and I am currently the Principal Investigator of a project funded by MINECO (345,000.00 €) for the valorisation of steel slag. I have participated in the drafting of Annex 15 of the Spanish Instruction on Structural Concrete "Recommendations for the use of recycled concrete", due to my participation in the National Project "RECNHOR" whose objective was the updating of the Spanish Concrete Standard EHE08.

Mahyar Panahi-Sarmad is a researcher at the Applied Biotechnology Research Centre in the Baqiyatallah University of Medical Science. He received his MSc degree from the polymer engineering department at Tarbiat Modares University (2018) and a BSc degree from Azad University at Science & Research Branch (2016).He is currently seeking a suitable doctorate position. Mahyar has over three years of experimental research in the filed energy conversion and storage, as well as interfacial and surface sciences.
