Biography

Prof. Dr. Huixia Luo obtained her B.S. degree from Zhengzhou University (China) in 2007, and graduated from South China University of Technology with a master degree in 2009. Later, she joined in Prof. Dr J. Caro group at Leibniz University Hannover (Germany) being as a Ph.D student and graduated with excellent record in 2012. After finishing four-year Postdoctoral research in Prof. Dr. R.J. Cava group at Princeton University, she joined the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Sun Yat-Sen University (SYSU) as a full professor in December 2016. She received the IAAM Scientist Medal Award from International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM) in 2018 and the Asian Scientist 100 Award in 2019; She is the recipient of 2019 NSF Outstanding Youth Science of Foundation Award from China and has been selected as the Pearl River Scholarship Program of Guangdong Province Universities and Colleges in 2019; She also received the Hundred Talents Program Award from SYSU and Outstanding master's thesis Award in Guangdong in 2010. Her current research interest focuses on the development of new quantum materials (e.g. superconductors, magnetic and topological materials) and non-molecular functional inorganic materials involving almost the whole periodic table and diverse methods. She also works on the exploring candidate quantum materials for energy conversion and storage. She has published more than 50 papers with the total citations over 1100 and the H-index of 19.
