Varda is a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Chicago and a member of the Simons Collaboration on Cracking the Glass Problem. Varda’s research focuses on the training of disordered materials where she develops computational algorithms to evolve complex material systems in directions that lead to a desired mechanical response in the system. Varda received her Ph.D. from Arizona State University in 2018, where she studied the rigidity transition in various disordered systems including jammed and auxetic networks.
