Dr. Glenn Porter is an Associate Professor in Criminology. His previous academic and professional experience includes the Head of Creative Arts & Media at James Cook University (JCU), Head of Program for the Bachelor of Science (Forensic Science) degree at the Western Sydney University (WSU), and as a forensic photographer with the Australian Federal Police (AFP). Prof. Porter has previously served for several years on the Executive Council and as Vice President for the Australian Academy of Forensic Sciences. His current research interests include how images are considered and form forensic evidence within the criminal justice system. He is a respected expert in forensic imaging and his evidence has been heard or presented in various courts and jurisdictions including; the District and Supreme Courts of NSW, Coroners Court of NSW, NSW Court of Criminal Appeal (Sydney), High Court of Australia (Canberra) and the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) (Geneva).
