Dr. Ahmed is the director of Neonatal research in the Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. He is the founder of Pulmonary hypertension program at Cohen Children's Medical Center and Northwell Health. He is an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine, and instructor at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research of Northwell Health. Northwell Health comprises more than 20 hospitals with 12 newborn services, more than 40,000 births per year, and more than 4,000 NICU admissions per year.Dr. Ahmed earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at Suez Canal University. He completed internship, residency, and master degree in Pediatrics at university of Suez Canal, Egypt. He also completed residency of Pediatrics at UNC, Chapel, Hill, NC and completed medical genetic and Neonatology fellowship at Duke University, NC. He earned his Ph.D degree from both university of Duke and Suez Canal University.

Dr. Jeffery H. Shuhaiber has broad training and expertise in various cardiovascular disorders. He completed his medical school training in England at Kings College London and undertook fellowships in USA and England. His research goal is to orderly adjust risk outcomes following cardiac surgery both in children and adults. Study endpoints have included mortality, morbidity and qualitative improvement initiatives. His interests include prevention of complications after surgery. Results of these clinical research studies have led to controlled studies of which have had important impacts on outcomes following open heart surgery. The academic journey leads to PHD and Training, at the Institute of Legal Medicine and Laboratory/Group Leader in the Department of Cardiac and Thoracic Vascular Surgery. He has published in different reputed scientific journals in the topics of aortic and aortic valve disease, Genetics, and biomarker discovery.
