Dr. Slavomira Filipova was born in Bratislava, Former Czechoslovakia, now Slovakia. She completed her education at Faculty of Medicine from Comenius University, Bratislava, Slovakia. She did her postgraduate internship at Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic and Universita degli Studi di Milano, Italy and postgraduate clinical degree at internal medicine and cardiology.

Currently she working as a University teacher at Slovak Medical University, Faculty of Medicine, in Department of Cardiology and Angiology, Bratislava, Slovakia and as a cardiologist at National Institute of Cardiovascular Medicine, Department of Cardiology and Angiology and Department of Noninvasive Cardiology, Bratislava, Slovakia.

She was a President for Slovak Soceity of Hypertension and Chairman for the Working Group of Preventive Cardiology in Slovak Society of Cardiology. She was a regular member of European Society of Cardiology (F.E.S.C.) and European Society of Hypertension.
