Professor Edwin Chan studied Architecture in England and then learnt Law in London and Hong Kong. He is a Chartered Architect, Surveyor and Engineer, and is a qualified Barrister-at-Law. He is a full Professor, of the Department of Building and Real Estate and leader of the academic discipline of Urban Sustainability. He has carried out a wide range of research including: Urban renewal and land use, Heritage conservation, Green building, Transaction costs analysis, and Community issues. He has published over 100 international journal ISCIpapers and many book chapters, and serves as an editorial board member of research journals. He has played active roles in professional bodies and serves a number of government committees.
