Iulia Prodan is a University Lecturer at Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. She graduated with an engineering BSc and MSc degree in civil engineering in 2009 from Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. After obtaining the title of Doctor in Geotechnical Engineering at the same university (TUCN), she held a position of Researcher at the Laboratoire de Mécanique des Sols (LMS) at the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne, Switzerland (2014-2015). She is co-editor of two books on Soil Mechanics and her research activities focus mainly on energy and thermo-mechanical behavior of energy geostructures, thermal and thermo-mechanical behavior of soils and soil-concrete interface. In addition to the academic and research activities, she started her entrepreneurial activity as Co-Founder of Expert Proiect (2015), a company specialized in consultancy and design in civil and geotechnical engineering with focus on bringing to the market innovative renewable energy solutions for the new buildings. Expert Proiect is the first company on Romanian market in designing and monitoring of energy geostructures- smart geotechnical structures that explore green energy from the soil.
