Erica Renes graduated from the University of Leon (Spain) with a BSc, MSc and PhD in Food Science and Technology. She worked as invited researcher (pre- and post- doctoral position) at the Irish research center Teagasc Agriculture and Food Development Authority. Erica currently works as teaching assistant at the University of Leon, Spain. Erica`s research focuses on the study of bioactive compounds, especially fatty acids, produced by lactic acid bacteria on the quality and functional characteristics of fermented dairy products. In 2019 she was awarded with “The European Young Lipid Scientists Award 2019” by The European Federation for the Science and Technology of Lipids for the research work carried out during these years.
