Dr. Marke Kruk is a Professor at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Poland. He teaches ecology and data science. He was a leader of the Department of Applied Ecology and domestic and international projects. His general areas of scientific and educational activity are Environmental Biology, Ecosystem Ecology, Biogeochemistry, Environmental modelling and data mining. His last publications cover ecology of marine coastal waters and terrestrial wetlands. He uses an ecosystem and data science approach introducing structural equation modelling, graph theory and machine learning tools to explore the effects of climate and anthropogenic factors on phytoplankton and zooplankton organisms. He is a leading researcher in publications in Oceanologia, Journal of Marine Systems, Aquatic Botany, and Ecological Indicators.
