Prof. Sergey Suchkov was born in the City of Astrakhan, Russia, in a family of dynasty medical doctors. In 1980, Suchkov graduated from Astrakhan State Medical University and was awarded with MD. During the studentship Suchkov was extensively involved into research in the area of ocular immunology and won in 1980 the First Prize at the First International Contest among the Medical Students in Praque. In 1985, Suchkov maintained his PhD as a PhD student of the I.M. Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy and Institute of Medical Enzymology, USSR Academy of Medical Sciences, Moscow, Russia. In 2001, Suchkov finished the PostDoc Research Fellowship Program and maintained his Doctor Degree at the National Institute of Immunology, Russia. From 1985 through 1987, Dr. Suchkov worked as a Post Doc Research Associate, Department of Medical Biotechnology, Institute of Medical Enzymology, USSR Academy of Medical Sciences to be involved in research in clinical enzymology and applications of DNA-dependent enzymes in clinical medicine. From 1987 through 1989, Dr. Suchkov was a senior Researcher, Lab of Developmental Immunology, Koltzov Institute of Developmental Biology, USSR Academy of Sciences to deal with developmental immunology. From 1989 through 1995, Dr. Suchkov was being the Head of the Lab of Clinical Immunology and Immunobiotechnology, Helmholtz Eye Research Institute in Moscow. From 1995 through 2004, Dr. Suchkov was being a Chairman of the Dept for Clinical Immunology, Moscow Clinical Research Institute (MONIKI) and the Immunologist-in-Chief of the Moscow Regional Ministry of Health. Dr. Suchkov has been trained at Lab of Immunology, NEI, Bethesda, MD, USA, NIH and Lab of Immunology; Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia, USA; The University of Florida in Gainesville; The University of California in S-F (UCSF), USA Center for Autoimmunity Research, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, USA as well as at some of the British and Swedish Universities on the invitation of the Royal Society for Immunology and Karolinska Academy, respectively; In 1993-1996, Dr. Suchkov was an Executive Secretary-in-Chief of the Editorial Board, Biomedical Science, an international journal published jointly by the USSR Academy of Sciences and the Royal Society of Chemistry, UK. At present, Dr. Sergey Suchkov, M, Ph.D., is: Professor in Immunology, Dept of Pathology, School for Pharmacy, I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University; Dept of Clinical Immunology, School for Clinical Medicine, A.I.Evdokimov Moscow State Medical and Dental University; Dean of the Department (Faculty) of The PPPM Development, and the First Vice-President of the The University of World Business, Politics and Law; Secretary-General, United Cultural Convention (UCC), Cambridge, UK to cover a lot of responsibilities including research in the area of mechanisms of chronization, intertalks between innate and adaptive immunity, and interdisciplinary (medical, bioethical, economical, social and political) issues covering PPPM. 2 Dr. Suchkov has been collaborating with scientists from the USA, Japan, Germany, Israel, and other countries to set up a new brand in modern medicine, i.e., PPPM. In 1991-1998, Dr. Suchkov is a CoSupervisor over the Russian-American Agreement on scientific and clinical collaboration in the field of ocular immunology between the Russian Academy of Sciences and National Institutes of Health (NIH); in 1991-1995 a member of The Reciprocal Exchange Fellowship Program between Russian Immunological Society and British Society for Immunology. Dr. Suchkov is an author of more than 500 publications including 10 patents and more than 10 monographs, handbooks, and textbooks published in Russia and the USA. Dr. Suchkov is a Supervisor for 18 dissertations maintained including 14 Candidates and 4 Doctors of Science. At present, 10 dissertaions are being supervised by Dr. Suchkov.
